Medium Voltage (up to 33kV)

Energi Cable Engineering supplies a wide range of Medium Voltage joints, connectors and terminations for a variety of application both onshore and offshore.

The type of connector or termination will be dependent upon the terminal equipment it is mated to, as well as the cable construction and earthing requirements.

Energi Cable Engineering carries stock of these items, including the NKT CPI3 and CPI3 XL Size 3 Plug-In Termination. Its range taking capability and ease of installation make it the perfect choice for 33kV GIS terminations.

KT 36kV APED terminations are also available from stock.

High Voltage (66kV and 132kV)

For 66kV and 132kV applications, the type of termination is often matched to the cable design when installing new systems, but some customers and DNO’s will allow for third party accessories to be used with a cable, if type tested together.

This is all taken into account when offering a solution and is very much dependent upon the End User.

For repair situations, the availability of a well-established, type tested product from a bone-fide manufacturer is often sufficient if it can accommodate the cables being repaired and can be delivered in a timely manner.

Due to the mind-boggling array of cable design permutations and dimensions, it is not practical to hold stock of these items, unless they have been purchased as spares for a specific cable system.

However, Energi Cable Engineering does retain a small stock of joints and terminations for repair situations, including the popular 72kV APED termination for all cross sections.

Extra High Voltage (220, 275 and 400kV)

For transmission voltages, the cable and accessories are predominantly supplied as a matched system from the same manufacturer.

Through its close relationships with leading manufacturers, Energi Cable Engineering can supply these systems in compliance with DNO standards and, where required, with full National Grid Type Registration.
