Reprocessed Cable Oil

Energi Cable Engineering has developed a process of reclaiming used cable oil that would traditionally have been destined for scrappage. Using a variety of filtration mediums and cleaning processes this innovative solution is capable of regenerating cable oil to the original standards required for use in a High Voltage cable system.

Over time, cable oil is subject to various operational extremes which can degrade the quality of the oil. In addition exposure to metals in the cable and the cable papers the oil becomes leached with acids and particulates on a microscopic level which can have an adverse effect on the dielectric properties of the oil.

The Energi Cable Engineering reprocessing system returns oil to its original standard and the regenerated oil can be introduced into the cable using traditional methods. This can save up to 2.968 kg/litre, more than 90%, of CO2 in comparison to incineration of waste oil.
