Oil / Gas Filled Cable Transition Joints
Oil and Gas Filled Cables have been the backbone of the Transmission and Distribution network in the UK and worldwide for many decades. These circuits continue to provide faithful service and with careful maintenance, will continue to do so for many years to come.
These circuits are gradually being replaced with XLPE cables, but there are still occasions where an Oil or Gas filled circuit needs to be repaired, due to third party damage, or diverted due to planned construction work along the existing cable route.
In these situations, Transition Joints are often employed and Energi Cable Engineering can offer a full suite of products to facilitate the connection of the Oil or Gas Filled Cable onto the new XLPE Cables. This includes Single Core, Three Core, Concentric or even Mollerhoj (flat) configurations.
There are also circumstances when Oil Filled cable may need to be installed and Energi Cable Engineering can supply new Oil Filled Cable, together with any Oil Straight Joints, Oil Stop Joints, Oil Cable Splitters and Oil Cable Terminations.
Energi Cable Engineering also has the expertise to carry out a Hydraulic Study on the circuit and then supply ancillary items such as Oil Feed Tanks, Gauge Panels, Kiosks, Oil Feed Pipe, etc. needed to manage any modifications to the hydraulic system.
